Disney’s theatre version of the much loved classic ‘The Lion King’ is now being performed in London’s West End. The performance fuses singing, dancing with stunning scenery and costumes to produce a stunning production. The audience will appreciate hearing familiar music from the movie, together with numerous new songs written specifically for the musical rendition. All things considered, the Lion King Musical provides great amusement for all age groups. In the early 1990s, it seemed like the industry of theatre was falling down. Along with the expenses of putting together a musical theatre production increased massively, few people were willing to pay for expensive theatre tickets when they could just as easily visit the film theatre for a tiny proportion of the price. Fortunately, Disney rescued the troubled Broadway scene, first with a stage show edition of Beauty in the Beast, and then a show of the Lion King. Now, this flashy modern musical can be seen at a range of venues, including the Lyceum Theatre, situated in London’s West End. Here are five reasons why you should go to this stunning show. 1. Alluring to All Age ranges Plainly, the Lion King is a success with kids. But the rhythmic music and sophisticated story makes it an interesting production for grown ups as well. Young adults will appreciate reminiscing of the first time they saw the movie as small children. 2. Prize Winner The Lion King has received a number of distinguished awards, including eleven Drama Desk awards and six Tony awards. Additionally, it was nominated for a further five Tony awards. Any show that is the receiver of this volume of awards is clearly worth seeing. 3. Brand-new Songs Everyone is in love with the songs from the movie version of the Lion King. A lot of the favourites features from the movie are integrated that you can sing along to, such as ‘Be Prepared,’ ‘Circle of Life,’ ‘I Just Can’t Wait To Be King,’ and ‘Hakuna Matata,’ are included in the West End show. But there are also numerous brand new songs that were composed for the musical version. These new songs include ‘Endless Night,’ ‘Shadowland,’ and ‘One By One.’ 4. Lovely Costumes One might wonder how a musical stageshow of the Lion King is able to show animals including giraffes and zebras while using humans as actors. This feat was completed with the help of several excellent costume designers. It is amazing to see the costumes, which are simultaneously complicated and simple. The amazing thing about these costumes is that they manage to express human characteristics while retaining vital animalistic elements. This anthropomorphic balance between animal and human helps keep the story believable. 5. Unique Scenery There a range of complicated scenes in the Lion King that might not work without the use of sophisticated scenery and props. One such scene is the stampede, during which wildebeast props on rollers produce a highly effective feeling of danger with the animals racing towards you giving the illusion of depth. Together with great music, lovely costumes and unique scenery, the Lion King musical is one of the most entertaining shows in decades. A must see for adults and children alike!
