Among Europe’s most famous snowboarding resorts for luxury ski holidays, Val d’Isre brags 527 kilometers of groomed pistes. The winter season begins in November and stops in the start of May. The purpose built French village supplies everything for you. The resort stretches down the valley from La Daille as far as Le Fornet with the apres ski in the centre of Val Village. The bunch of attractive houses comprise smart boutiques many of which have developed since the village was voted for the Winter Olympics in 1992.
Split into 3 different areas Val d’Isre has ample slopes for all skiers. With a great snow record, the town is enormously popular amongst pro skiers and mileage hungry intermediates, but you do not have to be particularly experienced to enjoy what’s on offer. It is easy to why numerous English are drawn to the town, with its renowned nightlife and the choice of amusement on offer, moreover the near proximity of Tignes permits you to head out to less busy areas if it all becomes all too much.
Pros
A superb night-life in the Alps. Everybody understands English. Comfortable approach to both Val d’Isre and Tignes known as the Espace Killy ski area. There is a lot of vehicles and although there are frequent buses in the daytime, dedicated party animmals had better aim to be within a short distance of the centre.
Cons
Overpriced. Busy and popular with English tourists, therefore not for those seeking a typical French town to savour a relaxing holiday. Several skiing lifts can close in bad weather. Some difficult blue and green trails.
